Seth’s birthday party

Seth, just turned 5 years old, on hearing me talk about this year’s Fourth of July fireworks with his mother. An Independence Day baby, Seth hasn’t quite caught on yet that the rockets’ red glare isn’t all about him.

This is really hilarious! My birthday is July 3rd, and as a child, my extended family often came for a visit (because of the holiday the following day.) For a long time (longer than was probably appropriate) I thought that their visit and the fireworks, of course, were for me!

Same goes for my son, a New Year’s Eve baby. Always thought the parties were for him. He’s 20 now – I think he still does!
